Octo cosplaying as Captain America

We love to dress up for Octocon – and so does Octo! – and we’re delighted that our Cosplay Parade is returning for the fourth year. (Check out our 2022 gallery!)

We also have cosplay guests – Fenek and Przysto – and they’re helping us put together an exciting and interactive cosplay programme both in-person and online!

Cosplay Parade
Saturday 14:30, Arena Room (Maldron Hotel)

Show off your cosplay and strut your stuff on the Octocon red* carpet in the Cosplay Parade! All ages and skill levels are welcome to participate, including commissioned and homemade costumes.
Please sign up in advance at the registration desk before 1:30pm, and let us know if you need any type of accommodations – we don’t have a stage so there are no ramps or steps involved.
Please arrive at the Arena room (downstairs) by 2:15pm.
[* Carpet is not actually red, sorry.]

Meet the Cosplayers: Fenek and Przysto
Saturday 11:30, Shannon 1 (Maldron Hotel)
Join an informal group chat with our cosplay guests Fenek and Przysto. Learn about their creations and chat about your own!
No sign-up required.

Cosplay Awareness (and How to Make It Sustainable)
Sunday 11:30, Gamma room (Zoom)

Cosplay is a great hobby – everyone should know that! Unfortunately, the way we have fun with it today is far different from when it first started. A few tricks and habits can make cosplaying far more affordable and sustainable. During this talk we’ll look deeper into the impact that cosplay has on the environment and society, learn something about fast fashion, and find out how to save €€€ on our fabrics and materials.

Next Level Cosplay [panel discussion]
Sunday 13:00, Beta Stream (accessed by the Member Portal)
It’s time. You are ready. The glue gun has cooled. The sewing machine lies silent. The dust from all the late nights of sanding has been swept away. All that your alter ego in cosplay still needs is those special highlights, those finishing touches, that extra bit of pizazz that makes all your hard work stand out! So yeah. How do you do that?

Check out the full programme.
